Patrice Beaumelle’s spell at the helm of Espérance de Tunis has ultimately come to an early end. Following the painful derby defeat against Club Africain and the definitive loss of the league title, the Blood and Gold management decided to part ways with the French coach.

Appointed at the end of February during a delicate period for the club, Beaumelle was tasked with reviving the team during a decisive stage of the season, both in the domestic league and in the CAF Champions League. In just over two months, the French manager oversaw fifteen matches, recording six victories, six draws, and three defeats.

While his first weeks in charge showed some encouraging signs, the team’s results since the end of March gradually weakened his position. A series of disappointing performances, offensive struggles, and continental elimination increased the pressure and criticism surrounding the technical staff. However, it was yesterday’s derby defeat against Club Africain — a result that officially ended the club’s title hopes — that ultimately accelerated the final decision.

In a league where results are everything, losing the most important match of the season was considered one setback too many.

To oversee the team on an interim basis until the end of the season, the management has once again entrusted the role to French coach Christian Bracconi, who had been serving as Patrice Beaumelle’s assistant. His mission will now be to regroup the squad and salvage what remains of the season during the final fixtures.

Thank you for everything, Patrice Beaumelle, and best of luck for the rest of your coaching career!
