After their precious first-leg victory (1-0), Espérance Sportive de Tunis flew to Pretoria this morning, where they will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the return leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final.
Under the leadership of coach Miguel Cardoso, the players underwent two training sessions in Tunis, focusing mainly on recovery and physical preparation for this decisive match. The objective is clear: to preserve their advantage and widen the gap if possible, in order to secure a ticket to the much-awaited final.
A long but necessary journey
The Blood and Gold took a chartered flight to South Africa. A long journey punctuated by a technical stopover in Chad for refueling, before landing in Johannesburg in the evening to then join Pretoria, the capital, where they will stay until Friday evening, the day of the match.
While the fatigue of the journey is undoubtedly making itself felt, the players will have plenty of time to rest and refocus before the match. The coaching staff has planned recovery and warm-down sessions to allow the players to approach the match in the best possible physical condition.
A match of paramount importance
This is undoubtedly one of the most important matches of the season for Espérance. A victory in Pretoria would propel the club into the final of the Champions League and the Club World Cup, a dream that all supporters hope to see realized.
The mood within the group is calm and determined. The players are aware of the stakes and the importance of this match, and they are ready to give their all to bring victory back to Tunis.
We can only wish our Blood and Gold the best of luck for this crucial match. They have all the talent and determination they need to win in Pretoria and secure their place in the final. All the supporters will be behind them, to encourage them and support them until the end.
