Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency unveiled, Thursday, the list of nominees for top athlete in 2016 in the various competitions of the national best athlete poll organised annually by the agency.

Here is the list of nominees:

- Best men's athlete of the year: Oussama Oueslati (taekwondo), Malek Jaziri (tennis), Makram Ben Romdhane (basketball), Wael Jallouz (handball), Youssef Akrout (sailing)

- Best women's athlete of the year: Ines boubakri (fencing), Marwa Amri (wrestling), Olfa Cherni (shooting), Yosra Mhammedi (bowels), Khadija Krimi (sailing)

- Best football player of the year: Mohamed Amine Ben Amor, Taha Yassine Khenissi, Hamza Lahmar, Sabeur Khelifa, Ali Maaloul

- Best men's disabled athlete: Walid Ktila, Abbes Saidi, Yassine Gharbi, Bilel Aloui, Ismail Bouabid

- Best women's disabled athlete: Raouaa Tlili, Marwa Brahmi, Soumaya Boussaïd, Hnia Aydi, Samar Ben Koolab

The referendum includes an official contest in which sports journalists and experts take part and another open to the public via vote on the website of TAP.
