CL-AFR : EST - Gor Mahia : Déclarations d'avant-match

Le latéral droit de l'Espérance Sportive de Tunis, Semah Derbali, a déclaré, lors de la conférence de presse tenue vendredi, que les "Sang et Or" ont besoin de rester concentrés et de se méfier du match retour face à Gor Mahia : "Nous avons besoin de rester dans cette dynamique de victoires. Il faut rester concentré, ne pas sous-estimer l'adversaire et confirmer la victoire de l'aller. Sur le plan personnel, je n'ai toujours pas renouvelé mon contrat mais je ne me vois pas ailleurs. Je pense pas que je vais trouver un meilleur club que l'EST". Interrogé ensuite sur l'affaire Ndong et la décision du CNAS de redonner les trois points de la victoire au CSS, Derbali a souligné que cette décision n'a aucun impact sur l'EST : "Cela ne nous dérange pas. Nous nous occupons de notre équipe et de nos matchs".

Heithem Jouini : Le jeune attaquant pourrait remplacer Yannick Ndjeng en pointe ce dimanche. Une chance à saisir selon lui : "Nous sommes prêts à disputer cette rencontre. Il est possible que je remplace Yannick donc il faut que je saisisse ma chance et que je donne le plus à l'équipe en confirmant le but marqué à l'aller".

Aminou Bouba : Recruté cet hiver, le défenseur camerounais joue rarement. Une décision de Krol qu'accepte l'ancien joueur de Coton Sport : "Je dois accepter le banc ! C'est la décision du coach. Le plus important pour moi est que l'équipe gagne. Quant à moi, je vais continuer à travailler. Ce dimanche, la rencontre sera difficile car en ligue des champions aucun match n'est gagné d'avance".

Bobby Williamson appreciates training facilities in Tunis

Gor Mahia head coach Bobby Williamson appreciated the training facilities provided for his team ahead of the return leg preliminary match against Esperance on Sunday.

"This is one of the best training ground we have trained on as a team. It is far better than what we have back in Kenya and we need nothing more than such facilities to prepare for the match," said Williamson.

The team manager Farnk Ouna also praised the training facilities provided for the team in readiness for Sunday.

"The training facilities are so excellent for the team. Perfect ground, perfect environment and just five minutes drive from the hotel," said Ouna.

"We are in good shape and the spirit is high so what we are doing is just to get the team ready for Sunday with some light training," he added. The team held two training sessions on the first day and they will have one more day to prepare before the match day.

High spirit in camp ahead of Sunday's match
With less that one day to play Esperance in the CAF champions league match in Tunis, Gor Mahia players are in high spirit and the mood is fantastic in camp here in Tunis - Tunisia.

The team will be training today for the second day after a successful first day of training under the watch of technical bench and club officials. Talking about the team spirit and good state of mind in the team, Frank Ouna - the team manager, pointed out the needed for players to be in high spirit and at a relaxed state of mind ahead of a big clash like tomorrow's one.

"It's always good to have the team in high spirit with nothing bothering them when preparing for such kind of matches. They need total concentration on what is in store because any attempt to derail them by districting factors, will mean disaster in their performance.

At the moment, the team is 100 percent fine and the spirit is high and that's what we want," said Ouna. Gor Mahia will be playing an attacking kind of football against Esperance who have two goals advantage over them and hopes are high of scoring goals.

Echos et pronostics autour de la possible compo de KROL:

1 ) Regued ne sera pas de la partie: le joueur le plus utilisé depuis Juillet 2013, et qui a joué Mercredi un match complet avec l'EN mérite de souffler... qui le remplacera ???!!! Bouba ou Makoun

2) Darrragi sera au mieux sur le banc, solution de rechange: Iheb Msakni, mais qui pour relever ce dernier en cours de match!!!???

3) Aful ou pas Aful. Harrisson a manqué le match avec son EN Mercredi dernier, pour cause de Visa. Lui aussi a joué un maximum cette saison, va-t-il céder son poste demain, et au profit de qui?? Traoui ou Mhirsi ???

4) C'est presque sur que Haythem Jouini sera à la pointe de l'attaque en remplacement de Yannick, souhaitons lui bonne chance !!

5 ) Quid de la défense !!!... ???

6) Mais où est donc passé Daouda Camara ???!!!

3/ Traoui n'est pas inscrit sur le liste Africaine donc il ne pourra certainement pas jouer dimanche. Si Afful ne joue pas ce sera certainement Mhirsi mais je pense qu'il va jouer.

Kroll étant trés cobservateur ne peut pas changer 4 joueurs d'un coup Yanick-Darraji-Regued-Afful et peut être Moez qui souffre du dos aussi.

6/ Daouda Camara est avec les espoirs je pense que Kroll n'est pas convaincu par lui, ni par Makoun et Bouba d'ailleur. Bizzare que les recrutements du Manager Dessabre soient tous écartés par Kroll.

Jouini doit saisir cette chance offerte par la blessure de Yannick (mauvaise nouvelle pour Taraji). Je suis convaincu que ce jeune attaquant finira par produire ce que tous les espérantistes attendent de lui. Cela dit, nos joueurs devraient oublier le résultat du match de Nairobi, car il reste encore 90 minutes à joueur et les Kenyans sont venus à Tunis avec la devise ''rien à perdre tout à gagner. En football, il ne faut jamais sous-estimer son adversaire.

L'Espérance Sportive de Tunis affrontera, demain, Gor Mahia, dans le cadre du match retour des seizièmes de finale de la ligue des champions d'Afrique.

Selon MFM, le coach "Sang et Or", Ruud Krol, alignerait Heithem Jouini en pointe à la place de Yannick Ndjeng, blessé. Au milieu, Oussama Darragi pourrait être mis au repos.

Dans ce cas, le Néerlandais opterait pour Iheb Msakni. A la récupération, Thierry Makon remplacerait Houcine Ragued.

Formation probable : Ben Cherifia, Derbali, Chammem, Ben Mansour, Dhaouadi, Mouelhi, Makon, Afful, Msakni (Darragi), Akaichi et Jouini.

Moez Ben Cherifia, Khalil Chammam, Chamseddine Dhaouadi, Mohamed Ben Mansour, Sameh Derbali, Thierry Makon, Khaled Mouelhi, Harrisson Afful, Iheb Msakni, Ahmed Akaichi et Haythem Jouini.

Yannick Ndjeng qui sera absent pour les trois prochaines rencontres des Sang et Or, et Oussama Darragi qui devrait être préservé pour le derby face au Club Africain, ne devraient pas être alignés ce dimanche.

Calabar : We are going for nothing less than a win

Gor Mahia dependable defender David 'Calabar' Owino is upbeat ahead of today's clash with Esperance in Tunis and says the team is here to win.

"We are all in good shape and the team spirit is wonderful here. I watched Esperance in Nairobi and l must say they are very beatable. Though they have experience, we can easily contain them and probably pin them down in their own half. We have speed and we can create chance of which if we utilize well, it will be bad news for our hosts," said Owino.

Owino expressed his disappointment for missing the first leg that was played in Nairobi due to a red card that he got in Gabon against US Bitam. "It was sad to watch from the stands when l could have helped my team win the match at home. I know the team needed me and it's good l am back and can't l wait for the kick off whistle," he added.

The defender will be wearing the captain's arm-band in the absence of Jerim Onyango who is the captain. He explained how he will handle the team and guide them to victory.

"Football is all about brain and we will use our strong points to neutralize our opponents. If l will lead the team, my work will be to encourage them to show character and to keep on fighting to the final whistle. We look like underdogs but l believe in football we are all equal. We are 11 players on the pitch and they will be 11 players same like us so let's sort it out on the pitch. I am dreaming of a goal today," he concluded.

Calabar will be leading the back line against the Esperance and we all know what he can do while on the pitch.

Sserunkuma targets early goals against Esperance

Gor Mahia prolific striker Dan Sserunkuma is eyeing early goals against Esperance in the return leg of CAF champions league preliminary match in Tunis today. He acknowledges the nature of the match but he is confident of doing well.

"I know the match will be tough but l like tough matches because that's where real characters of a player are tested. We have played many tough matches before and this is no exception. My target as a striker is to score goals and in fact very early goals if it will be our good day," said Sserunkuma.

The Ugandan mentioned the level of motivation in the team and the pride that will come with winning the match here in Tunis. "Players are really motivated and if we can win here, that will be the best thing to have happen to us this year, " he said.

Sserunkuma is the main man upfront and is well known for what he is capable of doing at any given time in a match of any nature.

It was encouraging to hear players being positive about the match against Esperance, and one player who could not hide his confidence ahead of the game and felt Gor Mahia is at home and will win is Kevin Omondi.

"Yes, the match will be tough because they want to progress to the next stage same like us but l believe we can beat them here and that's exactly what we are aiming at when we meet them," said the midfielder. In trying to point out a winning strategy, Kevin emphasized the need to create chances and utilize them properly. His words went [oui]

Kevin Omondi was quite instrumental in the first leg in Nairobi where he won the penalty on the 13th minute which Dan Sserunkuma converted to open the score sheet for Gor.

Williamson : Jerry's gap to be filled perfectly

This is the first biggest match to be played away without the first choice goalkeeper Jerim Onyango. It may sound like a worry for him to miss such a match but coach Bobby Williamson is optimistic he has equally good goalkeepers to fill up the gap left by the injured custodian.

"We have two more fantastic goalkeepers in Joel Bataro and David Juma. In the absence of our first choice keeper like now, the two can easily fit into his shoes and perform as expected," said Williamson.

Either Bataro or Juma will have a chance to show case what they can offer and more importantly to help the team win the match and progress to the next stage. In confirming their equal chances to be picked to start the match, the head coach clearly explained that the two have same chances to start the match.

"They are all quality goalkeepers who stand same chance of starting the match and we hope when called upon to step up to the plate, there will be no surprise," he added.

It's a big match for the two goalkeepers, but football is all the same and so they should offer their best if offered the chance to start the game against Esperance.

Haut les coeurs, et comme à l'aller posons notre jeu, balle au sol, calmos, concentration, attention au marquage sur balle arrêtée, convertissons nos occases en buts...
Ces verts n'ont plus de secrets pour nous, on peut lire dans leur jeu comme dans un livre ouvert. Attention aux courses sur les balles longues dans notre dos, et pressing haut pour empêcher les tirs lointains ( leur point fort !!!) en dehors de ça, il n'ont ni construction, ni technique, et encore moins d'imagination. Marquons assez tôt pour les faire douter, et faisons les courir pour les user et en fin de rencontre portons l'estocade...

Les matchs des tours préliminaires sont à disposition des clubs et non Bein et autres donc ça sera diffusé sur satellite aussi
Bon vu le niveau des commentateurs d'el watanya on revient presque à souhaiter que ça soit sur Bein ^^
