Hamdi Meddeb conduit la délégation de l'EST à Harare

L'Espérance de Tunis est partie jeudi à 15H pour Dubai avant de rallier le lendemain Harare, capitale du Zimbabwe où elle disputera dimanche prochain (16HT) le match retour des huitièmes de finale de la Ligue des champions contre Dynamos.

C'est le président du club, Hamdi Meddeb qui conduit la délégation. Quatre joueurs manquent à l'appel : Korbi, Chammam, Youssef Msakni et Mhirsi.

CL 2012 - Dynamos : L'absence de Makopa confirmé

Milton Makopa, suspendu lors du match aller, sera de nouveau absent pour des raisons de santé cette fois-ci. Le milieu défensif des Glamour Boys n'a toujours pas récupéré de sa blessure et ne s'est pas entraîné hier. A sa blessure à l'aine (côté gauche) est venu s'ajouter une blessure au niveau de la cuisse droite (ischio-jambiers).

CL 2012 - Dynamos : Les 18 Glamour Boys

Pour des raisons diverses (départs, blessures, suspensions...), le coach du Dynamos FC Callisto Pasuwa ne dispose que de 19 joueurs pour le match Dynamos - Espérance. Il s'agit des :

Gardiens de but (3) :

Arubi, Nhete et Chigova.

Défenseurs (7) :

Kutyauripo, Magariro, Magorimbo, Jaure, Mushure, Bello et Mbara.

Milieux (6) :

Mparati, Murape, Chafa, Mabvura, Kurauzvione et Mukamba.

Attaquants (3) :

Mutama, Chinyama et Vengesayi.

Pour sa liste des 18 pour le match de demain, Pasuwa se passerait, comme au match aller, des services du 3è gardien de but Chigova.

A Harare pas en touristes !

Le coach suisse du champion d'Afrique en titre, Michel Decastel n'a pas beaucoup d'appréhension avant le match retour contre Dynamos du Zimbabwe. Pourtant, malgré le net score tennistique (6-0) de l'aller, il insiste afin que ses joueurs ne se conduisent pas dimanche à Harare en touristes.

Cafonline.com : Ne redoutez-vous pas un certain relâchement inévitable quand on a remporté le match aller par (6-0) ?

Michel Decastel : «Non, aucun risque. Nous allons à Harare pour nous qualifier, pas en touristes. Il est important pour le tenant du titre de faire un résultat là-bas. Le voyage sera certes long et fatiguant, mais je le répète, on n'a pas le droit de faire un match de dilettantes».

Cafonline.com : Les Dynamos vont sans doute produire la fameuse réaction de la bête blessée ?

Michel Decastel : «Sans aucun doute. Les Zimbabwéens vont défendre crânement leur chance et chercher à se réhabiliter devant leur public. Nous savons que nous avons quasiment assuré notre qualification à Tunis. D'ailleurs, cet avantage nous a permis de faire une bonne semaine de régénération. Mais, au final, nous devons nous montrer sérieux et concentrés de bout en bout. Surtout qu'il y aura la chaleur et la pelouse synthétique qui vont représenter autant de handicaps».

Cafonline.com : A quel genre d'adversaire doivent s'attendre vos hommes dimanche au Rufaro Stadium ?

Michel Decastel : «A un onze beaucoup plus déterminé qu'au match aller. Ils vont nous provoquer comme ils l'avaient fait il y a deux semaines. Il nous faut absolument éviter les cartons inutiles et de prendre des buts en première période. Et puis, il faut faire attention au tartan. Bref, malgré les six buts d'avance, la vigilance sera de mise».

Cafonline.com : Ce qui ne vous empêchera pas d'aligner une formation assez remaniée ?

Michel Decastel : «C'est le luxe que peut se permettre un club qui possède six buts d'avance. Khalil Chammam vient s'ajouter aux défaillants. Il a contracté mercredi une contracture, et observera quinze jours de repos. Youssef Msakni sera suspendu pour avoir récolté deux cartons jaunes. Alors que le jeune attaquant Driss Mhirsi est retenu avec la sélection U20 laquelle va disputer le match des éliminatoires de la CAN contre la Libye. Mais nous possédons des solutions très fiables».

Six buts à zéro. Les Dynamos FC ne se sont pas encore remis de la défaite subie à Tunis. Et on peut le comprendre pour un ancien finaliste de la Ligue des champions. L'entraîneur du club zimbabwéen, Callisto Pasuwa ne parle pas de qualification. Il est trop lucide. Sa priorité est de remettre en selle son équipe, de la pousser à remporter une victoire qui contribuera à effacer un peu l'accident indélébile de Tunis face à l'Espérance.

Cafonline.com : Encaisser six buts même en déplacement, c'est une déroute comme il s'en produit de plus en pus rarement dans les compétitions africaines. Comment se remettre d'un tel échec ?

Callisto Pasuwa: « En analysant et en essayant de comprendre ce qui s'est passé. On a pris deux buts au cours du premier quart d'heure et deux autres dans les dix dernières minutes. Ce qui indique que nous avons mal entamé la rencontre et que nous l'avons mal terminée. Bien sûr il y a eu les insuffisances qui nous sont imputables mais il y a aussi eu en face une équipe qui est une des meilleures d'Afrique depuis une bonne vingtaine d'années. Elle est très forte. Elle est d'ailleurs la détentrice du trophée. Après les six buts encaissés, j'ai essayé de mettre en place un nouveau dispositif de manière à résoudre les carences observées ».

Cafonline.com: Quels changements allez-vous effectuer dimanche ?

Callisto Pasuwa: « Notre milieu de terrain a été une grosse déception et son comprtemebt a fait que les défenseurs ont subi tout le poids de la rencontre et que nos attaquants n'ont jamais été pourvu de ballons. Alors on a mis à profit nos deux succès en championnat depuis notre retour de Tunisie pour recadrer ce milieu de terrain et améliorer notre manière d'évoluer ».

Cafonline.com: Ce match vous fait-il peur. Les joueurs ne vont-ils pas vouloir en quelque manière se venger de l'affront subi?

Callisto Pasuwa: « Nous avons précisément discuté avec nos joueurs en insistant bien sur les règles du jeu, sur la nécessité d'avoir un comportement digne sur le terrain dans le plus profond respect du fair-play. Le football n'est pas la guerre. On gagne, on perd. Parfois on passe complètement au travers. C'est ainsi. J'ai également demandé à mes joueurs de de ne pas entrer sur le terrain comme des outsiders mais comme des égaux.
Ce doit être le match de la réhabilitation mais à l'impossible nul n'est tenu».

Dynamos has got to face Esperance as equals - Callisto Pasuwa

With the lots cast invariably against Dynamos FC in the second leg of the Orange CAF Champions League 1/8th final match to be played at Harare's Rufaro Stadium, team coach Callisto Pasuwa is focused on simply winning the home match. Esperance Sportif de Tunis has never conceded a goal to Dynamos FC in all the matches they have come face to face in the continental competitions, and this leaves Coach Pasuwa with the insurmountable task of changing that story line. Pasuwa spoke to Cafonline.com ahead of the match against the defending champions Esperance of Tunisia.

Cafonline.com: You are currently at a 6 goal disadvantage, how has that affected your preparations for the second leg match against Esperance Sportif de Tunis?

Pasuwa: It has taken such a defeat to give us as a technical team a wake- up call. When you meet a team which is stronger both physically and mentally it is important for you to improve your game and play smart. The loss in Tunisia has made us look more closely at ourselves and come up with new strategies which may aid in us recovering from the drabbing we received at the hands of Esperance.

Cafonline.com: What changes have you made technically and strategically to try and win the match on Sunday?

Pasuwa: Our midfield did not function as well as we wanted it to in the last game in Tunisia, and this meant our defence was under immense pressure and the service to the strikers was not smooth. We have looked at formations and combinations which we have worked on during our own league games and we are confident that on Sunday we will see a great improvement in our play.

Cafonline.com: As a Technical team, what have you focused on in your attempt to redress the defeat from the first leg match?

Pasuwa: We do not need to highlight the events that happened in Tunisia, what is important is to counsel and teach to our team the importance of Fair play. We sat down with them and spoke to them about discipline and rules of the game. Management of emotions is always a sticky point when you are down in a match, but we must not forget that this is after all a gentleman's game.

Cafonline.com: What is your main strategy when you meet E.S.T. this weekend?

Pasuwa: We know that the Tunisians are very fast and fit so we have to rely on tactful play and play an intelligent game. I told my players that the attitude to which they get onto the field of play with will make Dynamos win or lose. It is important to remain focused and get in not as underdogs but as equals. We are on home ground and our supporters want to watch the best of Dynamos, it is up to us to make sure that come the final whistle, the supporters and ourselves are proud of the way we will have played.

Anything can happen in football – Dynamos' Washington Arubi

The atmosphere in the Dynamos camp after losing 6-0 to Esperance in the first leg match of 1/8th final of the Orange CAF Champions League two weeks ago in Tunisia was tense and pensive. Fast-track to the return leg in Harare this weekend and the spirit in the Zimbabwean champions' camp is one of optimism and a keenness to give it a go in an attempt to overcome an almost impossible result. Dynamos goalkeeper and vice captain, Washington Arubi spoke to Cafonline.com ahead of the weekend's match to be played at Rufaro stadium in Harare.

Cafonline.com: You are one of the senior players in the team what are your feelings about this weekend's match?

Arubi: This is football we are talking about here, anything can happen . We have put behind us the loss in Tunisia and are looking forward to a positive result at home. As one of the players who played Esperance in the last CAF Champions League, I have to encourage my team mates to remain focused. Winning and losing start in the mind, so we must not think of our last match when we enter the stadium.

Cafonline.com: What is the morale like in your camp ahead of the match?

Arubi: At this point it is quite high. The question we have asked ourselves is that if Esperance can score 6 goals against us what stops us from doing the same? It is not a given that we will fall on Sunday, so we will play to the best of our abilities and seek make sure we do not lose at home.

Cafonline.com: What lessons from the last game are you taking into this match to help you win?

Arubi: Every game has its lessons, even our own local league games, what matters is that mistakes are not repeated. The Tunisians are physically strong and fast in comparison to us, but we shall not be intimidated, we will stick to our strategies and attack at every given opportunity. Our defence has been under intense instruction in the last two weeks, to keep it tight at the back and not concede cheaply as happened in the first leg encounter.

Cafonline.com: Tell us about hat preparations have you undertaken in the past 2 weeks?

Arubi: We have had two local premier league games and we won both matches which helped a lot with restoring our confidence. Also with the exclusion of two of our players from the game we had to strike new combinations and fine-tune them. I think we have worked hard and prepared well but it will come down to what we do and how we execute it on Sunday.

Une réputation à honorer à Harare

L'Espérance a quitté comme prévu Tunis à destination de Dubaï où elle a passé la nuit du jeudi à vendredi. La délégation qui a quitté la capitale émiratie ce matin à 9 heures sera à pied d'œuvre en fin d'après-midi à Harare au terme de sept heures de vol. L'équipe est partie sans Hamdi Meddeb ni Riadh Bennour, ce dernier devant se rendre lundi matin au Caire pour assister au tirage au sort des phases de poules le mardi 15.

Le Dynamos en courbe ascendante

Les « Sang et Or », en dépit des absences que nous connaissons et de l'éloquence du score de la rencontre de l'aller, sont déterminés à ramener un résultat en conformité avec leur statut de champions d'Afrique. Les conditions de séjour sont excellentes à tous les niveaux notamment celles climatiques, 25 degrés hier vers le coup de midi.

Côté l'adversaire de dimanche prochain, le Dynamos reste sur deux victoires réalisées dans la compétition nationale après son retour de Tunis : 2 à 0 contre Buffalo en déplacement et 4 à 2 à domicile face à Huange, deux équipes du milieu du tableau. Une équipe du Dynamos qui reste donc sur une courbe ascendante donc en mesure de faire oublier un tant soit peu sa lourde contre performance de l'aller.

Changements attendus dans les trois compartiments

La formation qui sera alignée dimanche prochain connaîtra quelques changements au niveau de ses trois compartiments pour des raisons inhérentes aux absences de quelques titulaires comme il est dans l'intention de Michel Decastel de faire reposer deux à trois joueurs. Aussi est-il fort question de voir la titularisation de Aymen Ben Amor en défense, Boughanmi voire Ben Salem à l'entrejeu et Ayari en soutien de Njang.

Le résultat du match aller explique en grande partie ces éventuels changements. Pour les joueurs que nous avons rencontrés lors du point de presse de mercredi, il n'est pas question de faire la moindre concession au Dynamos quelle que soit la composition de la formation qui sera alignée. Et Ben Chérifia de rassurer tout son monde quant au rôle positif que jouera la défense.

CL 2012 - Dynamos : Chinyama incertain !

Selon des échos médiatiques en provenance de Harare, le buteur du Dynamos FC Takesure Chinyama a contracté une blessure et ne serait pas en mesure de disputer le match de dimanche.

Callisto Pasuwa serait dans l'obligation d'aligner Mutama et Vengesayi sur le front de l'attaque. Ils seront soutenus par le milieu offensif Mukamba.

Hamdi Meddeb a préféré suivre la section Hand pour galvaniser les joueurs et les remettre en confiance. Ça a marché et ils ne l'ont pas déçu.

Riadh Bennour sera présent au Caire pour suivre le tirage au sort de la phase des poules. Le voyage régulier ne lui permet pas d'y être à temps.

Dr. Sarray les a remplacé comme chef de délégation.

il ne faut pas jouer avec le feu et changer 70% de l'equipe. il faut garder les cadres comme ben charfia/couly/derbely/mouelhi/bouazzi/awadhi/iheb et yanick en plus de ayari/ben amor et ben mansour. c une equipe equilibree et qui peut tenir le coup parceque l'ambiance sera tres dure et malsaine.

Selon notre ami Khemaies Dridi sur place au tel, Jusqu'à présent tout se passe comme prévu à Hararé, la délégation a fini par loger à l'hôtel désiré et a refusé le holliday Inn prevu par l'équipe adverse, les joueurs semblent avoir récupéré du long voyage et se sont entrainés normalement cet après midi au stade du match.
Il n'y a aucun signe de comportement négatif du public adverse et l'organisation suit son cours habituel. Bonne chance aux notres.

Dynamos seek to overturn deficit

Dynamos will be aiming to pull off one of the greatest comebacks of all time when they welcome Esperance at Rufaro Stadium for a Caf Champions League second round, second leg football qualifier tomorrow.
Kalisto Pasuwa's men need to overturn a 6-0 deficit if they are to keep alive their Champions League dreams after suffering their heaviest defeat in their competition in Tunis a fortnight ago.

The hosts will go into the match full of confidence after beating Buffaloes and Hwange in their last two league games and Pasuwa has vowed to go for it against the tournament's defending champions as they go in search of the required goals.

No team has overturned a six-goal margin in the modern Champions League era, but Pasuwa remains optimistic.

"We went to Tunisia and played 90 minutes, and we have the other 90 minutes here. Basically, what that means is we played the first half and we are now in the second half. We have the advantage of playing at home and the supporters are on our side," said Pasuwa yesterday at a Press conference yesterday.

In an effort to boost morale in the camp, Dynamos' principal sponsor, BancABC, yesterday increased the players' winning bonuses from the $300 they were promised in Tunisia to $400.

However, there is more in store for the players if they can pull off a shocker and bundle Espérance out of the competition.

"For every goal scored in the first half, we will give each player $100 and for every goal scored in the second half, they will get $200 each. But this incentive is for us to qualify. So what this means is that the players can only get this money if they progress to the next stage," said club chairman Keni Mubaiwa.

Dynamos vice captain Washington Arubi said the team was ready to roar.

"We lost 6-0, but that is football. We learnt our mistakes from that game and after our league wins against Buffaloes and Hwange, the confidence is back. We believe we are ready to turn the tables," said the former Lancashire, Highlanders and Bantu Rovers goalkeeper. Despite carrying a comfortable win, the Espérance protocol officer who identified himself as Sudok chose to be modest ahead of the game.

"In football you never know. Dynamos have an equal chance to progress. We played Dynamos in 2010 and we know their capabilities. The difference is that their 2010 squad had more experience. For us to get to the Champions League, we built the team over 17 years.

"The current Dynamos team needs time to get experience to make a strong team. They are a good side and the first leg score does not reflect their quality. Even ourselves we once lost 5-0 in one of our matches, but that doesn't mean we are not African champions. Sometimes things just go wrong in a match."

He said his team was not used to playing on artificial surfaces, which could affect their performance.

"Before playing Dynamos we played a team from Gambia on an artificial turf. It was difficult for us and we drew 1-1 because it was difficult for us. We are not used to it," he said.

Sudok confirmed his team would arrive without danger man Youssef Msakni, who he said was injured, and not suspended as had been widely reported in the media. The North Africans were expected in the capital yesterday evening.

Dynamos, on the other hand, will be without combative midfielder Milton Makopa for the match due to a groin problem while Timire Mamvura is suspended. Makopa missed the first leg due to suspension.

Pasuwa's options in the holding midfielder position have now been narrowed to Devon Chafa and old legs Leo Kurauzvione.

There is good news for the Dynamos supporters after the club hierarchy yesterday backtracked from their earlier position of hiking gate charges to $5 for the cheapest ticket.

Following a public outcry after the announcement earlier this week, the charges have been reviewed downwards to $3 for the rest of the ground, $10 for the Western and Upper grandstand while the VIP ticket will cost $15.

Dynamos said unlike in the previous matches where only 20 entry points would be accessible, 30 gates would be opened this time around for easy access into the stadium. The gates will be opened at 1000hrs and Mubaiwa appealed to supporters to come early to avoid stampeding.

Dynamos mission impossible made worse

HARARE- Callisto Pasuwa was last night cursing his team's misfortune after their bold mission to try and remain in the Champions League was rocked by the withdrawal of chief striker Takesure Chinyama from tomorrow's showdown at Rufaro.

Such is the crisis in the Glamour Boys' camp that Pasuwa went into camp with just 17 players — the only fit and eligible members of his squad that he could assemble for the tie against Esperance.

Tineyi Chitora, who was signed as a striker, remains AWOL, and this investment is turning into money flushed down the drain while Zambian forward Derrick Kabwe is still awaiting his papers to start working in Zimbabwe.

Zambian midfielder, Arthur Kaseloki, who could be used as an attacking option in times of distress, is also unavailable because of work permit problems.

The issue of the two Zambians, and the challenges they have faced just to try and work in Zimbabwe, has divided the DeMbare camp with some factions claiming that the move to get their papers was being sabotaged in-house.

Interestingly, Bosso coach, Kelvin Kaindu, a fellow Zambian who arrived after the duo, has already been granted a work permit. CAPS United coach, Sean Connor, was also granted a work permit despite coming in after the Zambian players.

Pasuwa will only have Martin Vengesayi and Rodreck Mutuma, in easily the weakest attacking combination, in terms of experience, thrown into the deep end by the Glamour Boys in a Champions League tie.

The Zimbabwe football kings are chasing to wipe out a 0-6 deficit suffered from the first leg in Tunis but history and the odds are heavily stacked against them.

In the 48 years of the competition, no club has been able to progress after suffering such a big defeat in the first leg. It's even worse for Pasuwa as he is going to battle with a heavily depleted side after on-fire striker Chinyama was ruled out because of a swollen knee.

Chinyama is the leading scorer for Dynamos in the Champions League after getting the all the team's three goals. Problems had been dogging Chinyama since early in the week when he missed the first day of training following a bereavement in his family.

Midfield hardman Milton Makopa is also out of tomorrow's game because of a hamstring strain and there was further sad news last night when Augustine Mbara left camp following the death of his sister.

The Harare giants will also be without Timire Mamvura, who is on three yellow cards, while veteran defender Guthrie Zhokinyi is also on suspension. Surely the Mission Impossible has became a reality.

Dynamos will be forced to drop to the Caf Confederation Cup to revive their search for glory in the African safari this year. Yesterday, the club's executive also revealed that the gate charges are now US$3 for the cheapest ticket.

Earlier they had announced that the minimum ticket will be pegged at US$5 but club treasurer Moses Chikwariro said the charges will be kept at a minimum and the upper grand stand seat will cost US$10 and the VIP ticket is US$15.

Pasuwa said they now have to concede that they will field an under-strength team, especially now that Chinyama's firepower will be missed. "It's a sad scenario and, as coach, you can look for answers but you always need your best players to be there, especially for such big games, and Takesure is a player we badly needed," said Pasuwa.

"But we have no choice because we tried to force issues but there is very little you can do with swollen knees. It's sad that he is out and it will affect us in a very big way but we have a game to play and we will try our best under very difficult circumstances.

"We played 90 minutes in Tunisia and we have got another 90 minutes to play here at home. So, the game in Tunisia was like the first half of a match and we are now going into the second half."

Veteran goalkeeper Washington Arubi, voted the best player in the Zimbabwe league season, was forced to retrieve the ball six times from the nets as Esperance ran out winners two weeks ago. But Arubi believes he has put behind him the nightmare in Tunis and is upbeat ahead of tomorrow's game.

"I still remember suffering such a big defeat when I was at Lancashire and we were playing Amazulu who beat us 5-0 and I was in goals," said Arubi.

"So I was not really surprised to concede six goals. It might have been a bad day for us but we should give ourselves the confidence as players and get a positive result now. The last two games we have played after the debacle boosted our morale. Now everyone is geared for the game."

Since the defeat in Tunis, Dynamos have played two league games where they managed to beat Buffaloes (2-0) and Hwange (4-2). Dynamos are the underdogs in this game and it's unlike most of their domestic games where they are saddled by the pressure of being favorites.

Esperance arrived last night and their protocol officer, Sadok Ben Aba, who came as part of the advance team on Thursday, said they will find it difficult to play their normal game on the artificial turf.

"The fact that we beat them 6-0 does not mean Dynamos are a bad side," said Aba. "I still remember one match in which we lost 5-0. The other challenge for our players will be adjusting to the artificial turf. We are used to natural grass and we struggled to get a 1-1 draw in one of the games in Gambia."

DeMbare will also be happy to know that Esperance's Youseff Mskani, who scored a brace in Tunis, is suspended for tomorrow's game. Mskani is known as the African Messi. He is a good player and is wanted by Atletico Bilbao," said Aba. "Unfortunately, he is not playing because of yellow cards."

Aba said it took them 17 years to build a team to win the continental championship and urged Dynamos to be patient, saying they had potential to one day triumph in the big league.
