In a press conference, Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso set the tone ahead of the CAF Champions League semi-final return clash against Mamelodi Sundowns FC, scheduled for tomorrow night at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
"Tomorrow is the match of the season for us," Cardoso said firmly. "It's a crucial moment as we play the Champions League semi-final. I hope my players are in good shape and we can achieve a positive result."
Cardoso and his staff have spent the last few days dissecting the game of their South African opponents. "We've studied Mamelodi Sundowns well by watching a lot of their matches," he explained. "We know they are a formidable team, but we are confident in our abilities and we will focus on our strengths."
The Portuguese coach also highlighted the impeccable state of mind of his players. "My players are aware of the responsibility that lies on their shoulders and are determined to fight until the end and never give up," he said. "On their behalf, I promise our dear supporters that we will honor the colors of Espérance and seek qualification for the final."
Cardoso expects a tough and undecided encounter. "The match will obviously be very hard for everyone," he predicted. "But we are capable of making the difference at any time in the match. We have the experience and talent to qualify for the final."
Cardoso's call to his troops is clear: total commitment, solidarity and unwavering fighting spirit. Values that have always been the hallmark of Espérance de Tunis and which, once again, could lead the club to continental glory.
The date is set for tomorrow night for an epic duel at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Good luck to the Blood and Gold!
