Espérance de Tunis trashes Grombalia Sport (3-0)

In a friendly match played Thursday, Espérance Sportive de Tunis (EST) defeated Grombalia Sport (GS) 3-0. Espérance's new Malian import Abdoulaye Sissoko scored the opener (40'). Second half strikes from Taha Yassine Khénissi (48', 58') made it 3-0 for the Blood and Gold.

The friendly game EST-GS gave Head Coach Ammar Souayah the opportunity to use the players who do not feature on the CAF list for the game against Étoile du Sahel:

Hamza Ben Cherifia (Sadok Yeddes 77’), Iheb Mbarki,  Houcine Rabiî (Ali Abdi 51’),  Khalil Chemmam, Montassar Talbi (Salem Jaziri 71’), Fousseni Coulibaly, Radhouane Khalfaoui (Khemaies Maouani 62’), Saâd Beguir (Chamseddine Samti 51’), Taha Yassine Khenissi, Abdoulaye Sissoko (Bernard Bulbwa 41’), Zied Ounelli (Adem Rejaibi 54’).

The match was played in 80 minutes and Espérance dominated from start to finish taking the lead in the 40th minute through Sissoko with a superb strike after two consecutive missed chances by Coulibaly who headed wide and then unleashed a shot that went slightly over the cross bar (19', 20').

More clear-cut opportunities came by in the second half of the game. Khenissi fired a cross shot to double the lead in the 48th minute and tapped in the third ten minutes later (58'). Samti, with a fine pass, supplied the assist.

The lively Beguir and Bulbwa could not cash in on further opportunities and were unlucky not to have scored other goals.

Ammar Souayah's Espérance is now at its third straight win in friendlies scoring 6 against JS Soukra (EST-JSS: 6-0), 2 against Stade Tunisien (EST-ST: 2-0) and 3 against Grombalia Sport (EST-GS: 3-0). Khénissi is the team's top scorer with two braces in the last two games.
