EST- Gor Mahia:

L'Espérance reçoit cet après-midi au stade de Radès l'équipe Kenyane de Gor Mahia pour le compte des seizièmes de finale de la Champion's League.

A l'occasion de cette rencontre, le coach Ruud Krol aligne la formation suivante: Moez ben Chérifia, Sameh Derbali, Khalil Chemmam, Chamseddine Dhaouadi, Mohamed Ben Mansour, Khaled Mouelhi, Harrisson Afful, Iheb Msakni, Thierry Nloga Makon, Ahmed Akaichi et Haythem Jouini.

Sur le banc des remplaçants, on retrouve Wassim Naouara, Iheb Mbarki, Arbi Jabeur, Aminou Bouba, Houcine Ragued, Mhamed Ali Mhedhebi et Driss Mhirsi.

Gor Mahia évoluear avec le Onze suivant: David Juma, David Owino, Musa Mohamed, Godfrey Nalusine, Haron Shakava, Kevin Oluoch, Geofry Kizito, Anthony Akumu, Timunah Nanyoni, Georges Odhambo, Dan Sserunkumi.

A la suite du report en raison des intempéries du match retour des seizièmes de finale de la Champions League entre l'Espérance Sportive de Tunis et Gor Mahia, la commission d'organisation du club informe les supporters que les talons des billets sont valables pour l'accès au stade de Radès demain, lundi 10 mars, pour le même match à 16h00.

La commission d'organisation rappelle par ailleurs que l'accès au stade est interdit pour les supporters âgés de moins de 20 ans.

CL 2014 : EST-GMFC se jouera ce lundi à 16h00

Un déluge s'est abattu sur le stade de Radès avant le coup d'envoi du match. Les deux équipes sont rentrées sur le terrain avant que l'arbitre ne leur indique de rejoindre de nouveau les vestiaires pour une quinzaine de minutes. La rencontre sera rejouée demain à 16h00.

A la suite de ce report, la commission d'organisation du club informe les supporters que les talons des billets sont valables pour l'accès au stade de Radès demain, lundi 10 mars, pour le même match à 16h00.

Heavy downpour causes match postponment

The highly anticipated Africa champions league second leg match between Gor Mahia and Esperance De Tunis was on Sunday called off due to heavy downpour that rendered the pitch unplayable.

The match had initially been delayed for 30 minutes as the teams waited in the dressing room. By kickoff time, the pitch was still semi-usable.

But the unrelenting rain continued forcing the match officials to postpone the game by one day.

Gor Mahia hope to repeat feat against Oilers in 1988
Having lost the home leg 2-3 to Esperance in Tunis Gor Mahia will now seek to accomplish the impossible on Sunday. To advance, Gor Mahia will need to win by two clear goals.

The last time Gor Mahia beat a team by two goals in a continental competition was in the quarter final round of the Africa cup winners cup in 1988 when they beat LPRC Oilers of Liberia 3-1 in Monrovia.

Esperance not taking chances
Coach Ruud Krol indicated that his team will not under-rate Gor Mahia. "A Champions League match is always difficult to negotiate. Whether at home or outside, we must concentrate. It is true that we won 3-2 away but we're still not qualified. There is a match to play, "said the Dutch coach at a press conference Friday before talking about Gor Mahia

"Gor Mahia are a good team. They took advantage of height. They were fast and sharp. They are young and I think they are to be taken seriously. "

On Friday, Esperance official Semah Derbali said his team was focused on the game. " The Blood and Gold " need to stay focused and be wary of Gor Mahia : "We need to maintain our performances, stay focused , do not underestimate the opponent and confirm the victory.

Hethim Jouini, the young striker who will replace Yannick Ndjeng is eager to make the most of the opportunity, he said : "We are ready to play this game can I replace Yannick so I must seize my chance help maintain our lead.

Gor Mahia must go on all out attack
Whereas Gor Mahia started with only one out and out striker last week, this time they might consider an additional striker to assist Sserunkuma. George Odhiambo Blackberry has been a livewire each time he had entered the game. He is a good candidate to start alongside Sserunkuma. If not Blackberry then Rama Salim or Patrick Oboya will fit the bill.

In goal, there is no clear-cut candidate to replace Jerim Onyango. Joel Bataro has more international experience having played for the Kenya U23 team. Yours truly watched his game against Senegal in Dakar and he was solid between the posts and made some daring saves. David Juma has more experience overall. Coach Williamson is observing both in training and can make an informed decision.

In defence, the return of David Owino is welcomed and he will help shore up the defence which was shambolic last weekend. A more solid performance will be needed especially as a large crowd is expected to cram the Rades stadium.

Team News: Juma starts in goal against Esperance

Coach Bobby Williamson has named David Juma to start in goal ahead of Joel Bataro who sits on the bench. Defender David Owino also makes a return from one match suspension to bolster the backline and will aslo captain the side.

Striker Kevin Omondi has been relegated to the bench and the slot filled by Kevin Oluoch. George Odhiambo who came off the bench in the first leg encounter takes place of missing Shaban Kenga amd will play in the attacking wing.

Match called off due to heavy down pour

The highly anticipated CAF Champions League first round second leg match against Esperance de Tunis has been called off due to heavy rains in Tunis leading to flooding of the Stade de Rades playing surface.

This prompted South African referee Danie Bennett to call off the match. The match kick-off has thus been rescheduled to Monday 10th March 2013 at the same venue starting 6.00pm Kenyan time (4.00pm Tunisian time).

j'ai imaginé que la pelouse de Rades est faite selon les normes avec un systeme d'évacuation des eaux sous le gazon comme celui prevu a Taieb Mhiri je pense??

Dans le cadre du match retout des 1/16è de finale de l'Orange CAF Champions League 2014 qui opposera l'Espérance Sportive de Tunis (EST) au Gor Mahia Football Club (GMFC), Ruud Krol, a décidé d'aligner la formation suivante :

Ben Cherifia - Derbali, Chammam (c), Dhaouadi, Ben Mansour - Mouelhi, Makon - Afful, Msakni, Akaichi - Jouini.

Les remplaçants sont Naouara, Mbarki, Jabeur, Bouba, Ragued, Mhadhebi et Mhirsi.
