Senegal Assistant coach, Badara Sarr has a place at the semis in mind ahead of their Group A Day Two clash against Tunisia on Tuesday, 1 December 2015 at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium, Dakar.
Fresh from their 3-1 win over South Africa in the tournament opener last Saturday, ‘Les Lionceaux’ face a tough test in a Tunisian side, which beat Zambia 2-1 in other Group A match on the same day.
Victory for either side will cement their place at the semis, and Sarr is hoping his charges will finish the game on the winning side.
“The win against South Africa was very important for us because in a tournament you have to win the first match to be more confident going into the matches with Tunisia and Zambia.
“Tunisia is a formidable team, we’ve watched their match against Zambia and they’re among the best teams here. Each match is important at this tournament but we are ready to for the challenge against Tunisia because we want to qualify early,” said Sarr.
Meanwhile, Tunisia coach Maher Kanzari expects a tough test from the Senegalese who will have the home crowd behind them.
“It won’t be an easy match because Senegal are the favourites and they will be playing in front of their home fans. We are here to win and secure our place at the next round,” he said.
South Africa and Zambia will face-off in the other Group A match later at the same venue.
