The Blood and Gold set course for the Egyptian capital yesterday afternoon, with their sights firmly set on the highly anticipated CAF Champions League quarter-final second leg against Al Ahly. A clash of continental giants scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Cairo International Stadium, to be played under unusual circumstances behind closed doors.

The trip went smoothly under the best possible conditions. Traveling on a special flight, the delegation reached Cairo quickly and without fatigue, ensuring the squad remains physically fresh for this crucial encounter. Before departure, an impressive crowd of supporters gathered to escort the team to the airport, once again demonstrating their unwavering loyalty. Some even made the journey to Egypt despite the match being played without fans in attendance—further proof that the passion of the Blood and Gold faithful knows no bounds.

For this important mission, head coach Patrice Beaumelle has selected a squad of 24 players, all determined to rise to the occasion and proudly represent the club’s colors: Memmiche, Ben Saïd, Debchi, Keita, Dräger, Ben Ali, Ben Hamida, Laifi, Jelassi, Tougaï, Guenichi, Hadj-Ali, Ogbelu, Tka, Konaté, Jebali, Rafia, Sasse, Msakni, Diarra, Boualia, Danho, Diakité and Jabri.

Throughout the week, and again during the official training session this evening at the Cairo International Stadium, the players displayed strong physical condition and a confident, focused mindset. The group has shown reassuring signs ahead of this decisive fixture. Positive news also comes from Hamza Jelassi, who had been doubtful due to a knee injury. The defender took part in recent sessions and appears ready to contribute, whether on the pitch or by supporting his teammates in this crucial moment.

With kickoff approaching, all the signs point to a team ready to embrace the challenge with determination and ambition. Fully aware of the magnitude of the task, yet drawing on their experience at the highest continental level, the Blood and Gold are prepared to give everything on the Cairo pitch.

We place our full trust in our players and wish our brave Blood and Gold the very best for this major African showdown.
