Espérance de Tunis delivered a commanding performance on Sunday afternoon, comfortably defeating Olympique de Béja 3–0 at the Boujemaa Kmiti stadium, in a match counting for Round 22 of Ligue 1. A deserved success, patiently built in the first half and emphatically sealed after the break.

The Blood and Gold set the tone early on. In the 10th minute, Tougaï narrowly missed the target with a header from a corner kick. A minute later, Béja replied with a harmless attempt, relying mainly on counter-attacks. Espérance continued to dictate play, and in the 13th minute, a fine collective move ended with Diarra’s low-powered shot comfortably saved by the home goalkeeper.

Chances kept coming. At the 18th minute, captain Ben Hamida produced excellent work down the flank, but Danho, well positioned, failed to convert his header. Seven minutes later, Danho again caused problems on the right before delivering a perfect cross for Tka, whose diving header narrowly missed the mark. At the 29th minute, Danho was brought down by the Béja goalkeeper inside the box, but the referee waved play on, denying a clear penalty appeal.

Béja’s only real threat before the break came from a long-range effort by Omri that sailed over Ben Saïd’s crossbar (41’). Just before half-time, Espérance finally found the breakthrough they deserved. In stoppage time (45’+4), Danho did brilliantly to pull the ball back to the penalty spot, where Diarra struck powerfully. The ball hit the crossbar and crossed the line: 0–1. A fully deserved lead at the interval, despite a first half played at a moderate tempo.

Espérance returned from the dressing room with clear intent. Three minutes after the restart, Rafia forced a crucial save from the Béja goalkeeper. The domination became overwhelming, and in the 66th minute, substitute Boualia produced a moment of magic, curling a stunning direct free kick into the top corner for 0–2.

Five minutes later, another substitute made his mark. Jabri capitalised on a defensive error by Dhaoui, showed composure and precision, and fired past the helpless goalkeeper to make it 0–3 (71’).

The hosts tried to react, but Ben Saïd was alert with a key save in the 74th minute to deny Béja a consolation goal. A brief defensive scramble late on caused no real danger (85’). In stoppage time (90’+1), Diakité missed a golden opportunity to add a fourth, blasting over from close range.

With authority, discipline and total control, Espérance de Tunis secured a convincing away victory in Béja. The scoreline could have been even heavier given the number of clear chances created. Mission accomplished — well done to the Blood and Gold.
