Mission accomplished for Espérance de Tunis! On the road this saturday at the Stade Municipal d'Hammam-Lif, our Blood and Gold perfectly navigated their Round of 16 match in the Tunisian Cup 2025, securing a clear (4-0) victory against CS Hammam-Lif, a Ligue 2 side.

From the opening minutes, the intentions were clear. Lively on the left flank, Hamrouni set the tone early with a powerful shot (9') that grazed the crossbar. Moments later, despite a timid local response that posed no real threat (12'), Espérance maintained the pressure. Well-positioned at the near post from a corner, Mouhli narrowly missed opening the scoring with a sharp volley (14').

The dominance intensified, and Ben Mohamed, with a long-range strike from 35 meters (31'), reaffirmed the Blood and Gold's attacking ambitions. It was only a matter of time. In the 38th minute, following a perfectly executed team move, Hamrouni delivered a pinpoint cross to Derbali, who controlled the ball calmly before slotting an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper. 0-1 to Espérance!

Buoyed by this opening goal, our players hammered home their advantage just before the break. Once again the instigator on his wing, Hamrouni created a chaotic situation; the ball, deflected by an opposing defender, fell to the feet of Mouhli who, with an impeccable half-volley, doubled the lead (43'). 0-2, the score at half-time after a generally well-controlled first half.

The second half confirmed the Blood and Gold's superiority. Barely having come onto the pitch, Koussay Maâcha intercepted a misplaced pass from a Hammam-Lif defender before unleashing a powerful shot to score the third goal (49'). Espérance continued their attacking festival: Jebali (52') and then Hamrouni (54') forced the home goalkeeper into further decisive saves.

CS Hammam-Lif thought they had grabbed a consolation goal in the 68th minute, but several of their attackers were correctly flagged offside.

Late in the game, the Blood and Gold sealed their victory with a fourth goal. From an accurate free-kick whipped in by Bouzaïène on the left side, Mohamed Aziz Koudhaï, who had just come on as a substitute, rose highest to head home and extend the lead (86'). 0-4, the final score!

A polished performance, controlled from start to finish, with a special mention for the youngsters and the players seeking game time, who fully seized their opportunity this afternoon. Coach Maher Kanzari can be satisfied: his decision to rotate the squad proved fruitful, and Espérance continues its journey in the Tunisian Cup with seriousness and ambition.

Well done to the players and staff for this clear and comfortable qualification!
