It's official! After days of speculation, the club's management has chosen its new coach to succeed Portuguese Miguel Cardoso. The Blood and Gold club is now banking on the experience and tenacity of Romanian technician Laurențiu Reghecampf, who has signed a contract until June 2026.
At 49, Reghecampf brings a rich career as both a player and a coach. Trained in Romania, he distinguished himself in the ranks of Steaua Bucharest, before moving to Germany where he played for FC Cottbus and Alemannia Aachen. Returning to Romania, he began his coaching career at his heart club, Steaua Bucharest, with whom he won two league titles. This great success opened the doors of the Gulf for him, where he coached renowned teams like Al Hilal (AFC Champions League finalist in 2014), Al Ahli and Al Taï recently in Saudi Arabia, as well as Al-Wahda and Al-Wasl in the United Arab Emirates.
For this new mission with Espérance, Reghecampf will be accompanied by an experienced staff. His assistant, Skander Kasri, will be seconded by Dino Viorel, also Romanian, in technical assistance missions. Fitness coach Bogdan Merisanu and goalkeeping coach Dan Zdranca also join the adventure, completing a high-level technical team.
With the arrival of this staff, the club hopes to regain a positive dynamic and achieve its ambitious objectives, both nationally and continentally. The Blood and Gold family welcomes them and wishes them all the success in leading Espérance to new heights.
