This weekend marked the end of the second preliminary round of the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League, revealing the 16 clubs that will compete in the group stage. Among these qualifiers, Esperance de Tunis shone brightly by authoritatively eliminating the Somali club Dekedaha SC (4-1 and 8-0 victories). The Blood and Gold's performance left no doubt, once again confirming their status as a major force in African football.
Alongside Esperance, other continental giants have also validated their ticket for this crucial phase of the competition. Al Ahly SC (Egypt), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), and many other prestigious names will be among the seeded teams for the draw scheduled for Monday, October 7th at 12:00 PM at the CAF headquarters in Cairo. Esperance, thanks to their past exploits, will be a seeded team, just like Al Ahly, Sundowns, and Mazembe.
