Espérance de Tunis maintained their positive momentum this afternoon at the Radès Stadium, defeating AS Soliman 2-0 in Matchday 4 of Ligue 1. It was a clear and controlled victory that reflected the Sang et Or’s superiority throughout the game.
From the very first minutes, Maher Kanzari’s men took charge of the match against an opponent that sat deep in defence and showed little ambition going forward. The pressure quickly piled up, with Soliman’s backline and, above all, their goalkeeper Moez Ben Chérifia being constantly tested. Thanks to his experience, composure, and inspired saves, the scoreline remained respectable and did not turn heavier.
Espérance’s dominance was finally rewarded on the stroke of half-time (45’+2). From a perfectly delivered corner by Youcef Belaïli, Yan Sasse rose highest to head home and open the scoring, sending Radès into celebration and confirming the Blood and Gold’s ascendancy.
Early in the second half, the staff’s plans were disrupted when Sasse had to come off injured in the 50th minute. However, the introduction of new signing Kouceila Boualia quickly reassured the fans. The newcomer showed promising qualities and blended well into the team, leaving positive signs for the future.
Despite AS Soliman’s efforts to stay in the game, Espérance kept pushing to seal the victory. The breakthrough came again from a corner in the closing stages: at the 89th minute, Mohamed Amine Tougaï powered in a header from another pinpoint delivery by Belaïli. Almost a carbon copy of the opener, the goal underlined the Blood and Gold’s effectiveness on set-pieces.
With this 2-0 success, Espérance delivered yet another convincing performance. Solid, creative, and disciplined, the team is living up to its favourite status and continues to build momentum with confidence. Bravo to the whole squad!
