Espérance ST - ES Métlaoui (1-0): Back to winning ways

Espérance Sportive de Tunis (EST) is back to winning ways after the very first game of the season lost to AS Marsa (3-1). The Blood and Gold overcame Étoile Sportive de Métlaoui (ESM) 1-0 courtesy of a first half goal from a direct free kick by Saâd Beguir (26').

Far from signalling a perfect performance, the result may well prove Espérance are capable of better things. Amongst the positives was a fairly good defensive performance. Dhaouadi added assuredness to the back line which contained ESM rather covincingly. The creative spark came from Saâd Beguir who was at his best while Abdoulaye Sissoko, Adam Rejaibi and Taha Yassine Khénissi kept the Metlaoui defence and goalkeeper busy.

The signs are encouraging and suggestive of better things to come!

Starting lineup: Helal, Mbarki, Chammam (Rabiî 68'), Dhaouadi, Machani, Ragued (c), Beguir (Coulibaly 86'), Chaâlali, Rejaïbi, Sissoko (Mhirsi 70') and Khenissi.

Yellow cards: Mbarki and Chaâlali.
